Do you want to take your pieces beyond the round? The focus of this workshop will be exploring and resolving ideas for making altered covered jars on the potter’s wheel. Demos will include showing how the parts are made and assembled to complete a unified form. The application of slip, glaze, and other decorating techniques will also be demonstrated. We will discuss how these techniques can be applied for soda/salt, cone 10 reduction, as well as cone 6 electric firing. By defining our personal passions and aesthetics, we can strengthen our own body of work.
