In Part One of this two-part workshop, Diana will share some of the drawing techniques that have defined her “etchings in clay” scrimshander style over the past twenty-seven years. Diana will demonstrate how to prepare clay work for etching, along with her method for transferring drawings to the clay surface, as well as share tips on how to create expressive drawings in clay. Discussion will include how to choose drawing tools best suited to you as well as how to utilize your tools to create your own, unique and emotive line work and mark making. During the workshop there will be a short slide presentation where Diana will show examples for where to look for inspiration as well as the many ways others use expressive line work.
